NEWSLETTER ISSUE 4
Welcome to the 4th issue of PINNA's newsletter.  We hope you enjoy it.  Feel free to email us to let us know what you think and what you would like to see in the next issue.

Helen, Jack & all the team at PINNA
PINNA, in conjunction with partner LSN, has won a contract to deliver the LEAD programme.  The LEAD programme is an innovative leadership programme designed by the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) specifically for small North West businesses of up to 20 employees.  Independent evaluation of more than 150 businesses involved in the LEAD pilot programmes showed that 90% of them achieved an average increase in turnover of £200k each!

To find out more about the programme, see our website.  The website is being updated with new information all the time, so to be sure of getting all the up-to-date information, register your interest in the programme with Bev Matthewson on 01995 642276.

Who else do you know who is the Owner/Director of a North West business with up to 20 employees and who would benefit from this programme?  Please feel free to pass this on.
'TRAIN TO GAIN' LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

If your business has between 5 and 249 employees, (different rules apply for businesses with between 250 and 1000 employees) you could benefit from funding of up to £7000.  Read more...

The funds can be used towards bespoke training and development for the individual and for the business.  Our clients are using the funding towards:
'Manager as Coach'
'Coaching for Organisational Performance'
bespoke programmes and
1:1 Executive Coaching.

PM+M Chartered Accountants have chosen to use their funding to run an in-house Manager as Coach programme:
"The decision to apply for the grant is one of the easiest decisions I have made in this job. To choose PINNA was one of my best; we are part way through PINNA's Manager as Coach programme and because of the benefits I am already seeing, I already know I want to spread this management style throughout the rest of the firm"
Stephen Anderson, Managing Partner, PM+M Chartered Accountants

To find out how you too could benefit from this funding to spend on PINNA's programmes, contact Jack on 01995 642276 or jack@pinna.co.uk
This issue's recommended book is 'Brief Coaching for Lasting Solutions' by Insoo Kim Berg and Peter Szabo.

Successful coaching is about finding solutions and optimising a client's life. Insoo Kim Berg, one of the founders of solution-focused psychotherapy, shows how to achieve these goals by applying this unique approach to coaching. All coaches, as well as therapists, will benefit from these techniques for creating effective and transformative conversations.  Click on the following link to find Brief Coaching for Lasting Solutions
Coaching with Young People Pilot Programme
20 & 21 May saw the start of PINNA's brand new Coaching with Young People pilot programme
aimed at equipping people who work with young people with coaching skills.  Delegates booked on from schools, youth work organisations and local authority departments as diverse as leisure, benefits and revenues and pregnancy and parenthood.

Helen Stevenson-Miller, one of the delegates said of the programme:
"Thinking about everything I've ever done - school, college, university and professional development - PINNA's Coaching with Young People pilot programme is the best thing I've ever done!  The programme i) delivers excellence in terms of pace, content, delivery and colleague co-operation; ii) provides networking opportunities with other delegates and iii) has been a catalyst for considering my own professional standards in terms of continuous professional development and delivery methods!"
Helen Stevenson-Miller, Foundation Centre Manager, Beneast Training Ltd

Give and Gain Day
5 June saw PINNA take part in
Business in the Community's National Give and Gain Day.  We hosted workshops for 60 pupils from two schools in Burnley at a Talent Exchange Day at Turf Moor in Burnley.  Our team challenge was to deliver something which would help to unlock the potential of the young people.  Caroline, Bev, Helen & Jo had a great day, working with the 14 year olds - a new target audience for us.  Nationally the volunteer day helped over 37,000 young people.

One-to-one executive coaching can improve your performance; increase sales; improve client relations; increase efficiency and profitability and improve team working.  All things important to your business ...especially in tough economic times.

Contact Jo on 01995 642276 or jo@pinna.co.uk to discuss how coaching can improve the performance of your people and your organisation.  If you're not sure about coaching and what it would do for you and would like to see it in action, we would be happy to consider a complementary trial (resource permitting).

Bookings for In-house Leadership and Management Development programmes on the increase.

We have seen an increase in the number of in-house Leadership and Management Development programmes as more and more organisations seek to create a coaching culture.

In addition to the benefits delegates report on our open programmes, sponsors of in-house programmes tell us they see the programme as facilitating 1) increased team working between managers whereby managers support one another with their learning; 2) a common language within their management team; and 3) the behaviour change necessary to start to change culture.

To discuss the possibility of running an in-house Leadership and Management development programme in your organisation, contact Jo on 01995 642276 or jo@pinna.co.uk
